Robert Johnson is a paid consultant working for Securus Technologies. Before he got the job from the telecommunications firm, he was a jail officer at a local correctional facility in North Carolina. He has been working inside the correctional facility as a jail officer for more than 15 years, and one of his primary objectives is to confiscate contraband cellphones. According to him, contraband cellphones top the charts for the item that has frequently been smuggled inside the prison cells. He has been doing his job perfectly, which resulted in other inmates forming a grudge against him. Some prisoners would threaten him because of his job, but he stood still and ignored the threats being lashed at him.
However, Robert Johnson’s life would soon change after an incident which almost killed him. Sean Echols, an ex-inmate at the correctional facility where Robert Johnson is working, decided to take his revenge shortly after getting out of prison. While still inside the correctional facility, Sean Echols has been planning to attack Robert Johnson, but he always thinks that the jail guards would just suppress him. He developed a superb idea which would unleash his revenge on the poor jail officer. Using a contraband cellphone, he contacted two hired killers and promised to pay them $6,000. After the deal, Robert Johnson’s house was attacked by two masked men, and they shot him twice. Robert Johnson’s wife rushed him to the hospital, and it was a miracle that he survived.
Right after the incident, Robert Johnson promised that he would be doing everything that he can to prevent contraband cellphones from being taken inside the prison. He partnered with Securus Technologies and explained to them his ideas on how to deter future smuggling of contraband cellphones inside the prison. Securus Technologies considered the idea of Robert Johnson, and the started to design a prototype that will be tested. After a series of successful experimentation’s, the product was unveiled by Securus Technologies, and it was tested. It successfully deters any calls coming into a contraband device, and the company has high hopes that it will be the answer to their needs inside the prison.
